Starting in the late 1960s with hand quilting, Kathy found out almost immediately that she loved the quilting part best!! "To me, piecing is just a way to get something new to quilt on!" Shortly after they met, she taught Peter to piece and quilt. He started his first quilt while still in the Navy; piecing by hand on a submarine!

February 13, 1998 brought delivery of their LongArm machine. "I was in Heaven," Kathy said, "Who else has this much fun at work every day?"  We have been longarm quilting for you and teaching you how for 12 years!!

As a natural progression of Kathy's quilting business, she and Peter started to hold yearly meetings to promote information sharing in the longarm community. They hosted over 25 quilters to their first meeting with Kathy demonstrating her freehanded, traditionally-styled feather techniques and how to cross-hatch blocks utilizing a hand-held ruler. Peter showed machine timing and other basic maintenance procedures.

Kathy has worked over the years to refine her traditional feather-quilting technique has and has taught them at MQS 2002 - 2006, MQX 2005 - 2006, Salt Lake City HMQS and her traveling workshops. She taped a segment of her techniques for the Quilt Central PBS quilting show in October of 2002. In 2003, she and Peter traveled to Australia where Kathy appeared at the 3rd Bi-annual Australasian Machine Quilting Conference as their first International Guest Lecturer. Most recently, Kathy and Peter again traveled to Australia to teach for Kaye and Bruce Brown of The Finishing Touch and added a trip to the northern island of New Zealand to teach for Lori and Mike Neels at their conference.
